Santa In the Time of Global Warming
Dec. 28th, 2024 03:26 pmLooking out post-prandially at the warm rain (24C) nearly at year's end, I'm conflicted. Something about my spinal-cord injury* makes me feel cold when others are uncomfortably warm. Much of the time climate change feels very good to me. I'm not even comfortable until it gets this warm, and then only if it's sunny. Yet I know that Earth's climate is dangerously out of control. I've been lucky so far. Many are suffering who would not on a stable planet. For centuries we've been perturbing the climate system, and now there are well over 8 billion of us. Don't let's become a cautionary tale for young ETs to tune out in their classrooms. Let's give ourselves the gift that keeps on giving.

A 10-fingr typist reduced to one. So, concision. That was the last of the vintage reviews, so you're stuck with what I come up with off the cuff. If you want short poems, especially senryu, go here https://dreamsandnightmaresmagazine.blogspot.com/
Because I'm retired I don't feel a lot of pressure any day, but this week is especially quiet. We're making puzzles and eating rich food, thinking of family & friends who are far away. I spent part of yesterday choosing short poems to submit to Failed Haiku, when #106 opens Jan. 10.
